Storage Limit implementation Phase 1: January 24, 2023
- Update the Google Workspace SLA to clarify and reflect the new service model
- All newly created accounts receive a 150 GB quota.
- All existing accounts are placed into a containment storage limit tier
- Phase 1 is complete.
Engagement: January 2023 - September 2023
- Consultations with account holders, or clusters of account holders, above 1 TB
- Consultations with departments and research groups with large volumes of content
- Campus engagement with administrative units and departments to develop content management and storage strategies
- Engagement is currently in progress.
Storage Limit implementation Phase 2: July 5, 2023
- Final limits finalized and communicated - Target May 16, 2023
- Update the Google Workspace SLA to reflect the new service model
- All new accounts and accounts holding less than 35 GB will be assigned a 50 GB limit
- All accounts holding between 35 GB and 150 GB will be assigned an extended 150 GB limit
- All accounts holding more than 150 GB will need to reduce storage consumption to be under 150 GB by January 23, 2024
- Enable Shared Drive creation for all faculty and staff
- All new Shared Drives start with a 25 GB quota
- Google Photos will be disabled for all accounts with no Photos content and all newly created accounts
- Phase 2 is complete.
Storage Limit implementation for Alumni: July 15, 2023
- Alumni accounts will be assigned a 5 GB limit.

- Assessment and assistance for all accounts over the storage limit.
- Continued consultations with large volume accounts, administrative units, and departments to develop content management and storage strategies
- Offer workshops to assist with content reduction and group content organization and data management strategies

Quota implementation Phase 3: July 1, 2024
- Implement final limit of 150GB for all individual accounts
Engagement: January 2024 - June 2024
- Shared Drives must reduce to final limit of 150 GB
- SPA My Drives must reduce to final limit of 150 GB
- Continued consultations with large volume accounts, administrative units, and departments to develop content management and storage strategies
- Offer workshops to assist with content reduction and group content organization and data management strategies
Completion: July 1, 2024
- SPA and Shared Drive limits implemented
