Sending through the CalMail SMTP server has been restricted as part of the Email Simplification Program. If your campus application, system, or device is experiencing a service interruption and can no longer send email, please see: What are my mail sending options when CalMail SMTP server is retired? for configuration instructions.
The CalMail SMTP server will be retired on June 30, 2017 as part of the Email Simplification Program. Campus applications, systems, and devices that are currently using the CalMail server should be reconfigured in advance of this date. The bConnected team has contacted all known departments and individuals impacted by the change, but certain devices (e.g. multifunction devices/scanners) are not easily identifiable and may experience a service interruption if not updated.
Due to current contract obligations with Google, UC Berkeley Google Talk users will temporarily be unable to exchange instant messages with those outside of the Berkeley domain starting on June 26, 2017. Users who need the ability to communicate with individuals outside of @berkeley.edu or associated subdomains (e.g. @haas.berkeley.edu, @physics.berkeley.edu) will need to find alternate means. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and are working to resolve the contractual issues as soon as possible.
