About Limited Accounts
If your Google account's functionality is reduced (limited) it is usually because your total storage across Google Drive, Google Photos and email is above 150 GB. If your account is limited:
-
You cannot upload or add new documents or files to Google Drive
-
You cannot edit existing files in Google Drive
-
Collaborators cannot edit your files in Google Drive
-
You cannot upload new Photos
-
Email will continue to function normally, although it's possible large attachments may cause issues
-
Nothing will be deleted
If your account is limited for another reason, such as sending too much email, your entire account, including email, will be disabled.
How do I regain all functionality in my account?
If your account is limited because it is using too much storage (more than 150 GB) there is only one way to regain functionality - reduce your storage to below your storage limit, either by removing content or by receiving a temporary storage increase to use during your reduction process. The recommended action is to reduce your Google account's storage consumption to be below 150 GB by removing contents in Drive, or Google Photos, if it's in use. Also be sure to empty your trash, both in Drive and Email.
