Last year, Google launched Reminders in the Google Calendar app for iOS and Android. Now Reminders are coming to Google Calendar on the web.
Key features:
Google Drive allows users to easily share files with collaborators through access control permissions and sharable links. With this launch, we are making it even easier to turn on file sharing in Drive on the web. Just select a file and click on the “Get sharable link” icon on the top right-hand side menu. You’ll then have the option to turn on link sharing with one click on the toggle switch.* The sharing link will then be copied to the clipboard for easy distribution and will provide view access to anyone in your domain who receives the link.
We have reached a milestone in our transition to bConnected Lists: over 1000 lists have been migrated! As of today, we have 1178 lists migrated since the process began on April 27th.
The bConnected team is excited to partner with the Academic Innovation Studio to offer workshops and drop-in sessions assisting mailing list owners in making the transition from CalMail mailing lists to bConnected Lists (Google Groups). We will cover how to migrate your mailing list, key features and settings mailing list owners should know about, and other topics of interest.
"How to migrate your mailing list" demonstrations:
CalMail mailing list owners of @lists.berkeley.edu lists can begin migrating their mailing lists to bConnected Lists (Google Groups). Migration will be available through December 20, 2016. List owners of active mailing lists will be contacted throughout the day when their lists are available to migrate.
Join the bConnected Team at the following upcoming events to learn about the CalMail mailing list transition to bConnected Lists (Google Groups):
Calendars should help users make the most of their time. Google has recently introduced a new feature called Goals in Google Calendar on Android and iPhone to help users find time for personal activities. With Goals, users can add a goal, and Calendar will help them find the time and stick to these goals.
The last day to create a new CalMail mailing list is April 21, 2016. Your next opportunity to create a mailing list will be April 27, 2016 as part of the bConnected Lists service. CalMail lists created within subdomains are not impacted at this time.
Watermarking can help deter unauthorized re-sharing of sensitive information in your Box account. When you turn on watermarking for a file, it places a semi-transparent overlay of the current viewer's email address or IP address (depending on whether the viewer is logged in or not), as well as time of access across the document's contents
In March, Google introduced the ability to quickly and easily scroll through Google Docs files on your Android phone or tablet. Now they've launched that same functionality for your iOS device. Starting today, when you begin scrolling in Google Docs on your iPhone or iPad, a small navigation handle will automatically appear on the side of the screen.
The bConnected Service Team has begun contacting mailing list owners with the following communication to mailing list owners, which details the migration plans for CalMail mailing lists to bConnected Lists (Google Groups). Check out the new bConnected Lists service page for detailed information about the service!

The bConnected team has identified roughly 1,000 active mailing lists that are currently without owners. Starting today we will begin outreach to these lists by way of list moderators, administrators, or subscribers when no moderator or administrator exists. Impacted lists will receive a direct communication from bConnected with instructions for identifying a new owner.
Google is making it easier to navigate lengthy, complex documents with an outline tool in Google Docs on the web and Android.
Displayed in a pane to the left of the page, the outline features headers for each section of your document, making it simple to quickly jump from section to section. If you haven’t manually applied headers, no worries—we’ll do it for you, intelligently detecting the logical divisions within your work. You can then edit or remove these headers as necessary.
Starting next month, bConnected will begin working with mailing list owners to migrate mailing lists from CalMail to Google Groups as part of our move from CalMail to Google Apps for Education
The bConnected team sent communication to the remainder of individual end users needing to move from the CalMail SMTP server. Impacted users will need to update their outgoing mail settings by March 22, 2016.
