We invite UC Berkeley faculty, staff, students, and researchers to join us for a One IT Town Hall: Collaborating Across Campus. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Dwinelle 370. Come learn about how the Educational Technology Services, Research IT, and bConnected teams are partnering to offer new services to help campus staff, faculty, and researchers better collaborate.

Starting November 2nd, Google+ profile names will be pulled from the CalNet directory preferred name section. Google+ profile names which do not match the CalNet directory will revert back to the preferred name in CalNet.

In 2003, in recognition of the growing threats posed by our use of the Internet for so much of what we do, the month of October was designated National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). The reality is that no individual, business, or government entity is solely responsible for securing the Internet. We each have a role in securing our part of cyberspace, including the devices and networks we use. Individual actions have a collective impact, and when we use the Internet safely we make it more secure for everyone.

We’ve added bCourses, Box, and CalShare toGoogle App Launcher (the toolbar icon that makes it easy to switch between apps within Google).

bConnected is pleased to announce that we are now offering unlimited storage for Box, our cloud-based collaboration environment for sharing individual, group, or departmental files. Box is ideal for managing large collections of files, and large numbers of collaborators. This important change represents unlimited potential for collaboration and innovation for your documents, photos, and research.

In response to feedback from campus, we have enabled additional apps provided by Google, including YouTube, Blogger, and Google+.
