POSITION OVERVIEW
The UC Berkeley Mobile App is undergoing design revision. The team is looking for a mobile web development intern to aid with this process.
Pay Rate $20/hour
Remote with option to work on-site

JOB DUTIES
Build mobile app pages:

Add content to mobile app pages & configure pre-built modules within the Modo platform based on business requirements utilizing skills in HTML and CSS

Create page layouts and configure modules to support advanced/custom features in the Modo platform.

Develop custom views and integrations to work with a variety of modules within the Modo platform
Maintain & develop mobile app features:

Properly document all added code and features, including Github workflow to keep an accurate record of work done

Ensure that back-end security measures are implemented and kept up to date

Respond to any reported issues in the production app in a timely manner

Work with other campus departments to properly intake data feeds, while abiding by campus policy
Examples of Projects and Daily Tasks:

Design new modules and functionality to provide value to UC Berkeley students, faculty, or staff. Examples include: Parking availability map, room booking

A comprehensive understanding of what is required both technically and non-technically to manage and build mobile app pages in the Modo platform.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

Excellent communication skills

Ability to create organized and clear documentation

Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff

Problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience prioritizing tasks

Ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain strong working relationships

Availability to work 10 hours per week during Fall/Spring semester, with the possibility of 15-30 hours per week during summer

Minimum GPA of 2.0
Preferred:
-
Ability to write clear and concise Typescript (Javascript) code

Understanding and knowledge of web development principles, methodologies and tools helpful including but not limited to Github, Google Cloud, and Express.js

A portfolio demonstrating assessment of user needs and a strong eye for interaction design

Minimum GPA of 2.5
Terms of Employment

The period of employment for this position begins upon hire and can continue through the end of 2022 - 2023 academic year

Must be a currently enrolled UC Berkeley student

Must clear a criminal background check due to the level of data access and access to systems and physical spaces required by the position

Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory job performance evaluation by the UC Berkeley Mobile Program Manager
