Box Capture Introduces Document Scanning

February 12, 2016

Document scanning provides an easy way to connect physical documents with digital work environments. Simply scan a document with your iPhone's camera and you'll be able to share and collaborate on the file just like you would with any other document in Box. In fact, the file will benefit from all of Box's features like granular access-permissions, commenting, tasks and deep integrations with the services you use most, like DocuSign and Salesforce.

Now document scanning is available with Box Capture, with these benefits:

  • Automatic: The app automatically detects, crops, aligns and filters the document.
  • Easy-to-edit: After the scan is complete, users can easily crop, grayscale, rotate and re-size the document.
  • Save to PDF: Capture can stitch multiple scans into one document and save it as a PDF.
  • Collaborative: Save the file to the right folder so that the right teams see it, leave comments and @mention other users to notify them that the item has been added.
  • Secure: Photos, videos, audio recordings and scanned documents captured with the app are saved to Box instead of the user's personal camera roll, so business information is always secure
